Guest Speakers

In my public relations class this past week we have had two guest speakers come in and talk to us about their jobs in the field of PR.  The first person that came in was Melissa Bohl.  Melissa is an alumni of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and graduated in 2006.  It is always awesome to hear from someone who took the same classes as I am and hear where they are in their careers now.  Melissa now works for GE Health-care.  Her main points that she wanted to get across to the class were about the ways to use social media to communicate within a company.  It was cool to learn about all the different ways that companies can keep in contact with just other coworkers using social media for only their own employees.  To keep up with Melissa here is a link to her twitter MelB679The second speaker that came to class was Cory Zimmerman.  He is the owner of a company called Z2, to learn more about it check out the website z2marketing also here is the link to the company blog Z2 blog.  The way Cory presented to the class through pictures was a very cool experience.  I felt like he really connected well with the class and brought to life what he does at his job.  It was very easy to see how passionate Cory is about what he does.  Both Melissa and Cory were great presenters that gave the class different insights to the field of public relations and ways that we can use what we are doing now in the class room out in the real world after graduation.
